Community Universal Waste Collection Program

California State University, Fresno; in conjunction with Electronic Recyclers International, Levi's Iron and Metal and other certified recycling companies; is providing a convenient recycling option for the general community located in the Central Valley.

Hundreds of thousands of computers, monitors, televisions, audio/visual electronic electronic devices, dry cell batteries, and large household appliances are replaced in California every year. Fluorescent light bulbs and tubes, although more efficient and last longer than incandescent lighting, eventually wear out and must be replaced. All of these discarded items contain hazardous components that can harm people and the environment if not disposed of properly. It became against the law for households to dispose of these materials in the regular trash as of Feb. 8, 2006. The good news is that when you recycle, you’re helping to protect our environment, save landfill space, and create new jobs in California.
